Happy Birthday Me

I’m currently in the air to Romania (posted this yesterday). It’s odd to wish myself a happy birthday I guess, but who cares. It’s been a great year, with an even better one ahead. I’ve had an incredible blast, so this birthday to me is really a thank you to all the great people in […]

Romania Tomorrow

I’m so looking forward to this trip. I have 3 of 4 sessions ready, passport all done and I’m just about ready to think about prepping to start packing, heh.
It’s a long trip (almost 18 hours), but I’m very much looking forward to meeting everyone and chatting with Romania bloggers, business people and marketers about […]

FireFox vs IE7: Tabs

Just a quick video illustrating why I prefer IE7’s tab interface to FireFox’s. Click through to see the video (too big for main page).

Google Checkout Quits

I decided to give Google Checkout a shot. Signed up, got all set (pretty quickly, well done Google). Headed over to Buy.com. Saw this laptop and thought that if it worked it’d be a nice buy.
Added it to my cart. Clicked “Proceed to Checkout”. Clicked to go to Google Checkout. And…

Google Check-Out

I really tried to come up with a snappy title for this. Like “Google Checks Out” or “Checking Out Google” or even “When Did Google Check Out?”.
Nothing stuck. So I’m stealing Mark Evans’ title.
Another week, another weak Google launch. Another round of “this is an [x] killer!“.
Mark’s got a good point:
Not to dismiss […]

Biggest Lies About Blogging

I’m doing some work with MarketingProfs over the next few months, which is probably why they asked to contribute my “biggest lies” about blogging to this piece.
Some folk’ll recognize some of them, as ideas that were stirring in mailing lists I was part of that week. All credit would go to the smart individuals on […]

Busy. The Understatement.

Just a note that over the next 3-4 weeks I am going to be crazy busy. I mean, I’m always busy, but these next few weeks will take it to a new level. The “busy” period could extend for 6 weeks.
I’ll still try and blog, but if I seem unusually rushed, distant, unresponsive, unable […]

Currently Reading: 75 Feeds (Or: Blogging Addiction Conquered!)

18 months ago today, I decided to take control of my “blogging addiction”. Partly I was spending way too much time reading feeds. Partly I was spending too much time focussing on talking about stuff instead of doing it. And partly I was just getting sick of the, erm, mutual massaging that blogging can sometimes […]

A Note to My Boys On (Off) Father’s Day

I’d intended to write this yesterday, father’s day, but life got in the way. In the hopes that all of history won’t see the irony, I’m writing it now.
My boys. Evan Christopher Wright. Alexander Eden Wright.
You both make me smile more, laugh more, think more and ultimately feel more alive than anyone I’ve ever known, […]
