Alex, happy birthday to you.

It has been such a joy getting to know you over the last year. Even before you were born, we could tell that you were your own person while you were in mamma’s tummy. Now that you’re here with us, and now that you’ve been growing and learning and smiling and dancing for the last year, it’s hard to imagine a time when you weren’t with us.

It has been such a joy to be your daddy. Your smile, your love for life, your love for dancing (which always makes me collapse in laughter) and your friendliness amaze me every day. You’re my boy and I am the blessed one for it.

In the last few months you’ve begun to sing, crawl, walk on furniture and we’ve realized just how smart you are. We can hide things on you and you find them, we can make words and you try your best to copy them (I swear, sometimes it sounds like you’re saying “hi daddy!”). We’re also pretty sure your first words are “that” and “get”, which is incredibly cool :D

Anyways, happy birthday big boy. I’m looking forward to many, many more with you!

Aw, sweet. MY son is coming up for his second Birthday. Like you, I cannot imagine life without him, or indeed remember what life was like before he arrived. What on earth did we fill all that free time up with??

Happy Birthday Alex, hope you got the Thomas the Tank Engine that you wanted…. :D

Happy Birthday Alex - and go SuperDad and SuperMom. As Alex grows, you’ll see/we’ll see (from a slightly older head to another) that ultimately your kids are the ones you’ll care about in your elder years, along with your wife.

Bottom lines, blogs, visions and dreams are part of the mix, but they won’t hold your hand as you watch your grandkids unwrap their Christmas gifts (though a good vision or blog may pay for that gift!).

    Happy Birthday lil’ guy.
