Review: The Village
I actually went to see The Village on Friday, but haven’t really had enough oomph to write a review. In fact, I still don’t. Why?
1. I’m tired
2. A guy beside me was talking through the whole movie. Yeah, I moved. Yeah, I could still hear him.
3. I’ve realised The Sixth Sense is the only M. Night movie I actually really enjoyed
4. Once you learn “The Secret” (think back, all of his movies have only one), the rest of the movie sucks… And this movie has the worst Secret in the world…
But, beyond that it was an enjoyable movie. All but the last 25 minutes. I was … nervous (not scared) several times. I was able to connect with some interesting characters and (apparently) there are some interesting subtexts and interpretations on the movie out there already.
Personally I probably would have been better off catching it on video. Except that, like Darkness Falls, I probably wouldn’t have. And I probably wouldn’t have regretted it.
There you go, the worst Ensight review in history ;-)
