  • Robert david steele – awesome first pesentation ;-) my hero!!! #
  • Gnomedex wifi down. Twitter is my only way out. #
  • If cisco routers had storage, we could kill google. #
  • This talk isn’t actually political. It simply redefines your perception of existence. Some of existence is political, but not vice versa. #
  • Steele thinks so much like I do, it scares me. He’s just more knowledgeable and experienced, so I’m glad he’s talking instead of me ;-) #
  • Without shock value truth, status quo is a fixed reality. #
  • @scobleizer – I’d say he loves what’s important about the US: innovation, people and potential of humanity. #
  • This guy’s problem is that he needs to focus on 1-2 things to make things happen. His strength is "here’s one way to fix this". #
  • The big question is: what next on the 2-3 biggest things here? What are the 2-3 biggest things? #
  • In my opinion, you can’t change the government RIGHT NOW. What are 2-3 things that can be done? 1. Opening budgets to public inspection. #
  • 2. Redefine "public safety" to include "public input" and "public data". 3. You own the data about you. #
  • Btw, yeah, his libertarian stuff’s a little out there. But he is identifying things that are changeable. And that’s a good Step 1. #
  • Slow wifi is slowing the conversation here at Gnomedex. #
  • Steele is the perfect lighthouse. No more. No less. #
  • The derision here is disappointing. Derision = status quo. If you disagree, propose a better solution, don’t stall progress. #
  • If nothing else, this should stir discussion during the break ;-) #
  • FYI: I’m sharing my media library. Anyone else using Windows Media is welcome to do so as well ;-) #
  • I haven’t seen Darren since we disbanded InsideBlogging. He’s really "matured" his views, speaking skills, etc. Rawk. #
  • www.nabuur.com: connecting high performing volunteers in the developed world with projects that need help in developing world. #
  • www.icouldbe.org – lets professionals mentor kids who are leaving high school. Lurrvvve it. #
  • www.geekcorps.org – go abroad building geeky shit #
  • 1 "Stacy" = a meal for one person… Helping @ nabuur: 1100 Stacy’s (ie: 1 person fed for a year). #
  • geekcorps volunteer for a month: 10 years worth of foodage. #
  • Volunteering vs working more and donating. Volunteering is less "productive", but is 100% given. Donating is less than 100%. #
  • Donate 1500$ to US: 16000 Stacies… Donate to Africa: 60000 Stacies. #
  • Gross National Happiness – rawk. #
  • We’re nearly out of b5media T Shirts. UPS lost 50 of them. If you really want one, find me or Darcie. #
  • www.givemeaning.com – Tom Wiliams’ project. I love Tom, he’s my hero. #
  • FYI: If we run out of shirts, email me / direct message me and we’ll ship you a shirt. Gnomedex attendees only, since we didn’t bring enough #
  • Building something that helps others do good scales exponentially more "for good" than individual volunteering and such. #
  • Music sharing: I’m "JEREMY-PC". So far I see "raffles" and "frantop", neither of which have allowed outbound sharing :( #
  • Guy says everything he does is about "Making meaning". Self is wondering how Truemors does that… #
  • It’s telling that I’m not really live-twittering. I’m bored. #
  • k, well, guy is funny. Just not a very original presentation with much real unique value. His presentation, to me, was a "dotcom". #
  • @mochant – I didn’t say Guy sucks. Guess I just look for something unique in a talk that makes me think. This is neither. Still a guy fan. #
  • Seeing the b5 logo everywhere is a little surreal… #
  • The problem with Truemors: They assume getting something built is the same as proving it, scaling it, growing it, etc. Creating != building. #
  • Aaron and I are finalizing my video response to Loren. #
  • Yeah, b5 snagged some advertising on Justin’s hat. Why’d we buy? Not for the hat, but for the attention the price generates ;-) #
  • @hyku – 1 dollah! ;-) #
  • Older woman on stage’s reaction to the iPhone: "Whoaa, this is amazing, look at all the things this does!" I’m not the market, she is, rawk! #
  • She HATES the keyboard. "This is hard". The navigation and stuff is great. Keyboard is awful. "I can’t stand it!" #
  • Damn. Wifi here is too slow to upload my video response to Loren. If you’re at Gnomedex, pop by and we’ll show you ;-) #
  • Great photo of Justin.tv’s new hat ;-) http://www.flickr.com/photos/hyku/1075835314/ #
  • Just upgraded my Gmail storage to 25GB. Can’t believe they make you pay for it, but I’m glad I CAN do it! #
  • Jason Calacanis on stage now. Hoping to actually meet him (finally) later :) #
  • We’re in ur commentz spanking ur decensy… #
  • So far, so good. Pollution is bad. Consumers revolt. Consumers fail. #
  • The problem with a speaker with Calacanis is that his insight is based on his experience. So he’ll talk about what he knows: what he’s done. #
  • I’d head out to the hallway, but as the previous owner of a competitor, I want to hear how he thinks. #
  • JCal: The difference between ads and spam is labelling and that it’s wanted… So what’s this (bottom of page)? http://tinyurl.com/3886mn #
  • @scobleizer – it might be a lazy excuse, but in my experience, Jason is acting exactly as expected. Is it his fault he’s being consistent? #
  • At least there aren’t any naked pics of Jason… #
  • @scobleizer – agreed, the bar should be higher, and "advertorial" should have been banned completely by Chris unless the audience ASKS. #
  • Personally, I think Mahalo’s 10x better than it was at launch. Still unsure of the business, but it’s getting BETTER. #
