My New Toy: Piaggio MP3 3-Wheel Scooter
This week we’ll be getting rid of our car. The plan was to go vehicle-less for several months (save up cash, pay off VISA’s, etc). However, we found the exact bike we were looking for on eBay for nearly 10K below list. Bought it immediately.
Fingers crossed nothing snafu’s on us (that’d suck), but if it all works out, here’s the bike (mine’s black/gray):

Here’s an early review on it (part 1, part 2).
Apparently a fantastic bike. Great fuel efficiency. No need to pay for parking in Toronto. Goes on the highway.
Now I just need to pick it up, secure insurance and actually get a license ;-)

Geez, when I saw your Twitter about this yesterday I spent the evening thinking all that money was going to your head. $10K for an MP3? Now I feel like an idiot.
Why not use a bicycle, though?

what a cool little machine!
Only thing that comes into my mind that makes me wonder is what it’d feel like whizzing along on this one in -6 degrees with the snow coming down. Hope you have a winter vehicle option in mind!
Oh – and where do the kids go? can you get a booster seat fitted? :-)
have fun – looks like a lot of fun.

Wow, that looks like fun! My husband lived in TO as a kid and his fondest memory is of riding the subways. You gotta let us know how it rides and take pictures of course.
I just bought a gamecube on ebay last Saturday and STILL have not heard from the seller. My 8 year old is going nuts! :)

You need a sidecar.
Or, you need a real car.
So now we have starkly differing tastes in movies and vehicular transport!

I love the idea and all for it, but alas….the question of inclement weather and bringing the little ones with you are challenges for this family.
