Been awhile since I’ve done a b5media jobs post, figured it was about time since we put up a list of jobs on the WordCamp job board and everything!

So, our current positions, the brief braindump descriptions and recommended/required locations are:

  • Server Ninja: This is a key opening, and an immediate opening. We need someone with substantial Linux server administration experience to maintain, design and grow our server infrastructure from the current dozen servers in a dedicated environment to a full colo environment with 30-40 servers. There’s a tonne to do as part of the dynamic tech team. Ideally this is a Toronto-based position, but the eastern seaboard or Canada are both options we would could work with.
  • Junior Tech Support: This is a Toronto-based position. 1/4 taking care of office IT stuff (router, laptops, printers, etc), 1/4 doing support for the ad sales team (placing ads, etc) and 1/2 taking care of WordPress and blogger support issues (all simple stuff). A knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS, problem-solving skills, familiarity with WordPress and blogging, troubleshooting knowledge of Windows is required. This isn’t a high end job, perfect for a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none type who has a few years of bits and bites experience. We want someone young and passionate who can really grow into the role and have a bunch of fun to boot!
  • Editorial Director: As some folk will have heard, Mark’s taken the next step in his career to join the PlanetEye team, which leaves a bit of a void on our content team. The Editorial Director (you can choose your own title, don’t worry, heh) is responsible for a whack of stuff. Ensuring content quantity and quality, editorial calendar, managing the training/community/network teams, business development, etc. It’s effectively a mixture of editorial, marketing and product development, and needs someone who’s totally passionate about blogging, content and who loves to lead great teams.
  • Executive Assistant: I always felt guys who had PA’s running around picking up their laundry and stuff were asshats. And now I need one. Not for laundry (smack me if I ever get my personal angel to get my laundry), but for stuff like managing my calendar, filtering email, booking calls, correspondence, contracts, etc. Lots of good stuff, an incredibly important job, but should be gobs of fun too ;-)
  • WordPress Developer: We’re always hiring great WordPress folk to join Aaron, Brian and Mark Jaquith. Don’t be shy, you too can be a ninja … if you dare ;-)

Anyways, that’s it for now! If you’re in TO tomorrow, pop by our office (174 Spadina, Suite 302) for our office warming party tomorrow from 5-9pm :-)
