I was asked to contribute to the Chitika Blog Bash, and specifically to share some of the b5 story mixed with tips on starting a blog network, blogging for dollars, etc.
I try not to pump b5 too much on this blog (it’s not like folk don’t know what I do after all, heh). But, when asked to share some stories, some lessons and some history I couldn’t resist!
So, here’s my post: Blog to Blog Inc. – Turning a Cup of Coffee a Day Into Millions (yeah, they picked the title).
Hopefull it’s an accurate, valuable and even vaguely entertaining look at b5. A little behind-the-curtain, up-skirt, inside-the-hive-mind ;-)
We have the whole team (except Shai! Love you Shai, and congrats on the new little angel!) in town for our second ever series of onsite strategy / hangout / bonding / decision making / planning sessions. 3 FULL days. Today was especially fantastic, and I think the whole team feels like a big weight’s been lifted and re-energized for the future!
Darren’s been taking photos all week, and he’s uploaded a whole bunch to Flickr.
It’s been an amazing week. The company has grown from 2 full-time at funding to 9 now, and that growth hadn’t really hit home until we sat down today at lunch. I looked around, just taking in all the conversations, laughs, insights, ideas and ENERGY… I sighed, and just realized how lucky I am to have such an incredible team. I’m sitting here grinning to myself (everyone around’s checking email) grinning for no reason.
As a follow-up to last night’s emotional post, I took my weight and body fat this morning, and I’m now down 10 pounds of fat since starting fatblogging! That puts my total fat loss at just shy of 20 pounds. The amazing (sad?) part is that the physical change isn’t really that substantial yet.
Also, last night I NEARLY hit my second goal weight: being under 230 at night. I was at 230.0. SO CLOSE! If I hadn’t had pizza I probably would have been fine.
Maybe tonight’ll be the night? Either way, my third weight goal for this “leg” of the marathon is 225, which is probably a little ways away yet :)
Hmm… Weighed in this morning and was very, very surprised to see another great number… Especially since I’ve been kind of binging lately. Stress, busyness, trainer cancelling and a whole whack of stuff.
Truthfully I’ve been doing really, really poorly lately, but still losing weight… Is it just new muscle mass settling in?
Anyways, the next couple of weeks aren’t looking great, since there’s no time for the gym and I’m doing a LOT of travelling… Will see how I do…
Important Note! I mixed up the dates. The event is Tuesday the 10th, not, erm, Tuesday the 12th…
Just a note that we’re having an open b5meetup in Toronto on the 12th at 6pm at the Irish Embassy. The Upcoming.org page is here.
Darren from Problogger’ll be on hand, as will Aaron from Technosailor. Hell, the entire North American team (7 of us now) will be!
Free booze, free food.
You’re welcome to join us whether you:
- Know about b5 or not
- Have a business card or prefer moocards/flickrcards
- Want to chat about blogging or couldn’t care less
- Are part of the TO community or are a ferner
- Just want free booze
- Want to punch Chad in the face for saying AdSense sucks ;-) (in fact, this might become a requirement for entry, heh)
Basically we just love hanging with the TO community, and since everyone’s in town we figured throwing a little laid-back “do” was the least we could, erm… do…
