One of our sites has somehow been classified as spam. See the post by the blogger here. She’s tried contacting them. I’ve tried contacting them. We keep getting shut out, and for no good reason. Here’s an excerpt from the post:
Then the kicker came when I contacted tech support for help. I was talking to an online tech support person when I got disconnected. They kept trying to find out how I logged on to Netscape. So I got back on and was hooked up with another CS Rep. He asked me if I paid for the IS part of Netscape or used it for email and I said no. I don’t have netscape for my email nor do I pay for finding information and submitting stories. The guy actually told me that he could only help me if I was a paying customer and then disconnected.
Maybe Jason Calacanis still knows folk over there who can help out? Maybe you do. Personally I don’t know anyone at AOL, but real bloggers shouldn’t be blocked from Netscape.com.

I am confused .. was ThriftyMommy marked as spam by Netscape themselves? or other members of the social Community?
Not everybody can be popular all the time. I’ve only posted my own entry once to DIGG on fear that I would get ‘outed’ permanently. I’ve been trying to avoid the ones that can be voted upon, and just add to the ones that make them publicly available with the tags.
You should see how long it took me to cancel my dial-up account with Netscape.ca – who, to this day are charging all Canadians the wrong GST rate …since July 1, 2006

I would contact the Anchor on duty or CK Sample over at Netscape.

My guess is you were group voting or reported by users as lame/spam too much.
You can sitemail any of the anchors when you’re logged in.
Sounds like your blogger called the dialup support line for the ISP!!!

As far as I know, we were marked as spam by Netscape themselves. I am not aware of being labeled spam anywhere else. I can still submit to other social networking sites with no problems.

We’re not sure exactly how Thrifty Mommy got marked as spam. I emailed one of the anchors, Alexia, a number of times and she couldn’t get me an answer either.
In my experience, unless you’ve got a lot of sock puppets voting for you, it’s safe to submit your own posts as long as they are good quality posts that contribute to the community. Spam-like posts will be seen as such, of course.
