And although I do not really agree with paid amount, I think it surely is a valuable experiment, actually nothing <em>really</em> new. I am sure you can also think of old-school communities, mainly professionally SEO-orientated platforms/CMS's, in Web1.0 style (ugh I wrote THAT), who paid for articles. OK, seen in that way yes.
