Keep saving, then you can buy a Toughbook.

I’m past the 2 week return period for my laptop now, so I’m stuck with it. But I like it, so that’s not a problem.

Actually, Conroe is only for desktops, and that’s where the price war will start.
The “Core Microarchitecture” version for mobile PCs, codenamed Merom, won’t be out until later this year. It’s going to rock, just like Conroe does on the desktop, but Intel already dominates the mobile market, so I’d expect to see less of a pricewar there.
Of course, that doesn’t mean I’m not drooling over a Merom-powered Mac Book Pro or something similar. A geek can dream, can’t he?

Josh: Ah, okay, that’s not so bad then. I’ll probably buy next week, since I can’t wait until this fall or whatnot.

What are you going to buy?

Well I would definitely wait if it meant some of the lowest processor prices to date. I purchased a Macbook a month ago so I am stuck too, however I really don’t thnk you can go wrong with whatever intel duo processor you choose – i know, i know it depends on application, but these things are so fast that I am actually moving over what used to be on my destop to the laptop!

I think I’m just gonna go ahead. There’s a laptop I quite like, and waiting for some company to release some other laptop I might not like… Meh, I’m gonna go for it
