Following on from Dunc’s post on 10 people he’d want on an island if he was stranded (and a few similar “who’s on your A List” posts that have been circulating around), here is my list of 10 folk, give or take…

In terms of who’s on it, it’s people who I look back on the last few years and see them standing out. If you’re not on here, it doesn’t mean you aren’t important to me or didn’t make an impact it’s just that *today* my brain is being mean to your memory ;-)

1. Shannon
How can you not invite your wife?! C’mon! :D She’s everything that’s beautiful in the world, and not inviting her would be like inviting air.

2. Aaron Brazell
Aaron and I have shared a lot. Laughed a lot. Gotten angry a lot. And we’re still friends. I’d definitely want him there to keep things lively (and to hear him admit he’s wrong, which is way more fun than I’m sure is healthy).

3. Jacob Murphy
Too much fun, too much history, and too much “getting” each other not to invite Jake. Plus, we need a bassist for the island band ;-)

4. Pudd
Again, too much fun not to invite! Plus, he’d be the spinner in the band :D

5. Stowe
Besides being wicked smart, he’s one of the most easy going guys (for me) I know. Plus, while he can talk blogging and social media, he’s just as likely as I am to say “screw it all” and just go out for drinks to have a good time. Finally, being a conference guy like me we often run into each other mid-way through tours and prop each other up. It’d be good to be on the island propping each other up for entirely different reasons!

6. Will Pate
In some odd twist, we had dinner on Valentine’s Day in Vancouver one year, and ever since Will has had a special place in my heart. Besides that we managed to talk for like 6 hours straight (having never met before), Will’s incredibly nice, very smart and an incredible sales guy. Not that we’d need a sales guy on the island, but we’d definitely need someone who’s comfortable hanging out on Valentine’s Day with a bunch of guys.

7. Christina Jones
Christina is like the backbone of b5media. Nobody knows it, but she keeps everyone smiling and getting along like it’s nobody’s business. I absolutely adore Christina (and her rooster). She’d definitely be on the island, mon.

8. Jory
I’ve only met Jory once, but she is… Well, she’s Jory. It’s hard to sum Jory up without doing her a disservice. But I love Jory and can’t wait to hang out again. And being trapped on an island seems like the easiest way to make that happen!

9. Dan Wilt
There’s only one Dan Wilt in the world. Dan’s a dreamer, a visionary, a friend, an inspiration and a poet. He’s a shining light in my life, and the island would be way too dark without him around (plus, he’d make a great addition to the island band!).

10. Xbox 360
’nuff said.

Update: I knew I was forgetting someone. Coming in at Number 11 is Mike Hillyer. Mike is just about the best guy in the world. Gobs of fun, gets my sense of humor, plays games with me when I don’t feel like working, kicks my ass when I should be. There wouldn’t be 1/10 as many laughs if Mike weren’t around. Sorry Mike!
