W00t! Got the update! Background downloading baby…

I’m so gonna fill up this hard drive now ;-)

    Indeed, yay for background downloading. Besides that there isn’t so much exciting about the update though, but hopefully it’ll allow them to put more resources on content. This machine just screams downloadable TV shows in 720p ;-)

    I think the big thing about this was fixing all the annoyances people had. Disorganized marketplace, playlist issues, resuming DVD’s, pausing/forwarding/rewinding videos, boot to dashboard, etc.

    My impression is that we’ll see some actual new features in the fall release, as well as extensions to the GamerTag/.NET Passport/MSN Messenger integration (ie: sending messages from Live to Messenger and back) and some other juicy tidbits.
