A Personal Blog
Pickle Jar'ing It
Huh, I got “Lifehacked” this week (no link to Ensight though). It was from an old, old, old article I wrote on time management called the Pickle Jar Theory of Time Management. Anyways, it was a fairly positive article (even though I don’t work this way anymore). Some commenters ripped on me for “stealing” Stephen Covey’s ideas. Which is false, since both my piece and Covey’s say this is a church teaching (Covey’s mormon, I think, and the use of analogies is standard in both his and my church’s).
Either way, glad to see this getting some visibility. Everyone needs more structure, more simplicity and more discipline in their day. If this helped some folk, great. Maybe I should illuminate how I now schedule my day sometime…

Dear Mr. Wright,
As a graduation (film) student, i am currently writing my thesis in which i research the modern ways of illegal advertising.
Just yesterday i came across your book on Blog Marketing and finished it almost overnight. it was the best buy in years. Even-though i don’t own a company(yet) your writing style and the “modern breeze” of the subject where so inspiring, i can hardly wait to start one.
Anyway, in this fist blogging attempt of mine, i thought you might be able to help me out
with my research.
Illegal advertising, subliminal messages and even propaganda, are somewhat in the same area, but also very old. In my thesis i want to give an insight of the modern ways in which people are affected in buying things and or valuing a product or service. Everybody knows the classic examples of coca cola logo’s flashing in theatres in the fifties, and shitty soaps in which actors obviously promote random products, that have nothing to do with the story.
Well, to come to a simple question:
“Do you know so (classic or new) examples in which illegal advertising is implemented through the modern possibilities such as the web and mobile devices, phones, PDA’s etc.?”
I can imagine that it is fairly easy to create a fictional blog or blogger, and have them either compliment or better yet, complain about your product or service, after which it is easy to solve or change things with all the obvious gain….
Hoping for a contribution from you (or anyone else reading this…) as inspiring as this brand new book of mine…
Kind regards,
Just Boon
