Technorati Top 100 Reshuffling
Just in case anyone misses this, the Technorati Top 100 is about to undergo a major shakedown.
Long time Top 100 “we’re here, we’re important and we aren’t going away” die hards are about to drop off the list in favor of a number of newer bloggers. Specifically, if Technorati’s figures are correct, Robert Scoble, Dave Winer, Wil Wheaton, Autoblog and Search Engine Watch will be falling off the top 100 list.
I wonder if the “top dogs” will continue to link to the Technorati Top 100 on their sidebars? They’ve always said they were doing so because it was a great service, and not just to pump themselves up… I wonder what this means, when “the old guard” begins to pass, and new bloggers begin to storm the Top 100?
One of those new bloggers is b5media partner Darren Rowse. Darren’s blog has long been climbing the charts, however his current rank of 89 is the first time he’s broken into the Top 100.
Many congrats to Darren, and many condolences to the “old guard” who will likely never see that side of the Top 100 again ;-)

thanks mate….although you just linked to them all so they’ll be climbing the rankings again! :-)
Pity something seems wrong with their actual top 100 list as it’s not picking up my blog in it. Got to get a screen cap of me in it before I fall out again…hehe

Darren, there’s 2 types of updating they do. The update the order of blogs on the fly. But they only update who’s IN or OUT of the Top 100 about once a month (or less).
Don’t worry, you’ll be there for good soon enough. You’ve been climbing for the last few months. It’ll be your home very, very soon :)

I’m happy to see Kottke there. Also, it’s remarkable how many MSN Spaces blogs are there. That’s got to give MSN some degree of self-accomplishment…
