The 10/20/30 Rule of PowerPoint

Category: Business, WorkJeremy Wright @ 11:53 am

I’ve had this bookmarked for ages. Might as well blog it so I can find it later.

From Guy Kawasaki comes the 10/20/30 rule of PowerPoint: a PowerPoint presentation should have ten slides, last no more than twenty minutes, and contain no font smaller than thirty points.

In addition, here are the slides you need for an effective VC presentation:

1. Problem
2. Your solution
3. Business model
4. Underlying magic/technology
5. Marketing and sales
6. Competition
7. Team
8. Projections and milestones
9. Status and timeline
10. Summary and call to action

Good find, Jeremy. I’ve always been a huge Guy Kawasaki fan. The last VC presentation I went to had a PPT show of about 150 slides. Oops.
