Amazon Restocks

Category: From My LifeJeremy Wright @ 11:56 am

Just a quick note that Amazon now has “gobs” more books available, so feel free to keep ordering ;-) No pressure, of course!

Also, thanks to John Mudd for posting the first Amazon review. Amazon reviews really, really help so feel free to add yours once you get your copy of the book!

Blog Marketing: A New Hope

As any regular reader knows, I’m rather random at times. So this should come as no surprise.

Amazon Sold Out!

Category: Blogging, Business, From My Life, Work, WritingJeremy Wright @ 10:35 pm

I don’t actually know how big Amazon’s first shipment of Blog Marketing was, and I’m sure they had to fill pre-orders out of their first shipment, but it looks like they’ve sold out.

The website says:

Availability: Usually ships within 3 to 5 weeks. This item will arrive after December 23. For delivery after the 23rd, we recommend FREE Super Saver Shipping on orders over $25.

Earlier today it was 3 copies, then 1, now this. Very cool, thanks to everyone who bought! Feel free to keep ordering, though, as Amazon’s pretty on-the-ball with shipping and I’m checking to see when their next shipment will actually arrive now :)

If you want the book sooner, drop me an email and you can order it directly from me or from a soon-to-be-announced retail partner.

Book Pics 009

Originally uploaded by jeremywright.

Crazy, crazy. My first copy of my first book arrived on Monday. I was at the local university when I got it and it was such an insane experience. I mean, I only know a handful of peopel who’ve written real books and I really look up to them.

It’s weird to think that I’ve written one now. Absolutely crazy. I mean, it’s been nearly a year since my agent first asked me about the idea, so you’d think it would have sunk in…

But it still hasn’t. It sits behind me and every once and a while I just turn around and look at it, unbelievingly.

John Mudd wrote the first review I’ve seen and it’s generally positive. He notes that a chunk of the advice isn’t new and is available elsewhere on the blogosphere for free… Which is true.

But, if people can find the info themselves, they probably don’t need the book.

Anyways, I’m still crazed-assed busy here, but it felt weird to HAVE the book, HAVE people reviewing it and NOT be blogging about it :|

Have a great weekend everyone!

ps: Amazon has just about sold out their first shipment (no, I’m guess it wasn’t 5000 books), so make sure that if you plan to order from Amazon you do it quick:

Books Arriving…

Category: Blogging, Business, From My Life, Work, WritingJeremy Wright @ 2:29 pm

I’m getting reports from around the web of books arriving on reviewers doorsteps… Crazy. I don’t have mine yet. Maybe I should post an “unpacking ritual” post when I receive it? ;-)

The Blogosphere Doesn’t Exist

Category: BloggingJeremy Wright @ 2:22 pm

Note to self, apparently the blogosphere doesn’t exist.

After all, if the tools designed to track the existence of a thing, can’t even accurately track .1% of a thing, how can we tell if a thing really exists?

Answer? We can’t. Yet.

Does this mean it’s an issue with the tracking tools, or one with the thing itself. After all, if MSN Spaces claims to have 3-5M users who post on a daily basis, and LiveJournal has 1M, and Yahoo 360 has 500,000 and Blogger has 2M and MySpace has 5M…

Gah, not a cohesive though, hence my note to self warning.

Blahnalytics: Waking Up

Category: Blogging, From My Life, WorkJeremy Wright @ 1:50 pm

Just a note that Google’s new Blahnalytics application is starting to wake up. If you click the Reports button, some reports do show up. It still says it’s “waiting for data”, so I can’t vouch for how accurate the reporting is… And it still takes 30-60 seconds to load a page…

But, at least I have to imagine it’s up to a certain extent?

I’m not sure if I should clap or moan that it’s taken them 2 days to make a product which previously work properly simply display non-live results.

Alex’s First Steps!

Category: From My LifeJeremy Wright @ 1:10 pm

It’s happened! Alex took his first step last night! We didn’t get it on film, because he only took one (daddy tricked him into it). He’s very cautious about falling, so it might be a few days before he walks some more… But he’s doing very well. Both of our boys were 12-13 months before they walked properly. I guess that’s what happens when they’re in the top 2-3% of weight for their age ;-)

Blahnalytics: 36 Hours In

Category: Blogging, From My Life, IT ThoughtsJeremy Wright @ 10:49 pm

… still no stats. 24 hours late. Site still slow. Still having issues across the board.

Thankfully, it doesn’t slow down page loading.

Go Google go, way to show Microsoft how to develop software ;-)
