Blog Marketing Book Excerpts
Oct 3rd
Over the last few days, I’ve been posting a handful of excerpts from Blog Marketing to the book’s blog. The latest series is a short story written by Joe Flood which frames the various sections of the book nicely.
Part 1: A sign-making company gets introduced to the concept of blogs. Part 2: The company brainstorms around how to use blogs to increase business. Part 3: The company runs into negative feedback. Part 4: The company looks to the future.
It’s a great little story, and one that completely captures the overall tone I was hoping to convey for the book, that blogging is a fun, fantastic way to engage with customers, create positive experiences, create communities of interest in a lasting and dynamic way. Thanks Joe!
Let me know what you think of the story. I’ll be posting more excerpts as we get closer to launch.
Pulling Back This Week
Oct 2nd
Just a note that I’ll be fairly quiet, and more pulled back from online activity (email, skype, etc). I have a seminar coming up next week and I need to buckle down and prep for it.
Yesterday's Photo Shoot
Oct 1st
I did a photo shoot with a friend yesterday. Nothing huge, but I needed some shots for the book sleeve. A few of them came out really well.
This one was my favourite. Especially if I ever did my own CD ;-)
I always find doing photo shoots incredibly stressful. It’s one of those things that nobody teaches you what to do.
Good posture. Don’t force the smile. If you’re going to smile, give it all you’ve got. “Lift” your eyes. If you cross your arms, don’t tighten them across your chest. Look at the camera or WELL away from it, not in between…
This was my 4th. I still don’t feel comfortable.
But, necessary evil I guess :)
