Everything for my trip on Sunday to BlogOn was nearly worked out, until this morning. When I found out airline prices had risen by nearly 1000$ (making my voucher for 800$ in travel useless) and not being able to find any hotels right now for less than 200$/night.
Still hanging on for a miracle, but as of this second it’s a distinct possibility that I won’t be going. I could take the train for like 250$. It’d be 10 hours each way, but I can handle that. Just can’t handle paying all that cash right now in hotels.
Fingers crossed though, y’never know what could happen in the next 4 days

Oh, that sucks. Sorry to hear thatt. I don’t know how they do it in Canada but in the US, we can write that stuff off as buiness expenses on our taxes. It sounds like a good theory but doesn’t do much good when you have to shell out the money upfront though. LOL
Hope things come together for you.

You could do a Dave Winer. He blogged that he needed $1500 to attend a conference. If a company paid, he would promote their interests at the conference. Sure enough, someone paid.

John,
Naw, I’d rather go because someone wants me there than so that they can buy my voice. Besides, I’ve got more than enough things to talk about already (book announcement, b5media announcement, blog networking announcement and blog advertising announcement).
I was already feeling overwhelmed. If I don’t go, it’ll be less stressful. But it’ll be loads less fun as well.
