A Personal Blog
Book #2 Started: You Can Blog
I’ve been hinting at some new things for a while now. Obviously one of them is an upcoming blogging network. Another is my second book. I’m doing this book in conjunction with Aaron Brazell, one of the founding members of Ensight. Earlier this week we signed the contract, got the go-ahead on the Table of Contents (posted below), and started writing. Well, Aaron started writing… I’ve got a huge week this week, so I won’t be starting my bit until next week.
The plan is to have the writing done for the end of October, with the release sometime in November. It is being published by SpiderWorks, which is a bit of an experiment for me… Realistically, any publishing is still new to me and is experimental, but SpiderWorks is decidedly not a traditional publisher. Basically, there isn’t any advance, but the authors and publisher split the profits 50/50. In the case of SpiderWorks, books are done both as eBooks, as well as print-on-demand books.
It’s a bit of a different model than my first book (okay, it’s the polar opposite), but I’m excited about it. Truth be told, if the model works, I’ll be doing 3-4 of these with different authors per year, in addition to a book or two per year. If it doesn’t, it’s still another book under my belt, and is still something valuable to have contributed to the community.
Now, to the book…
The book is effectively a “blogging for dummies” book. It’s very basic and, in that respect, isn’t very new. However, I wanted to go beyond the normal basic blogging book and show not only what blogging is, why you should blog and how to blog, I also wanted to show readers how blogging would actually benefit them.
Here’s the table of contents to illustrate that:
Part 1: Getting Started with Blogs
Chapter 1 – The Earth, Water, Wind & Fire of Blogging
Chapter 2 – 8 Parables of Blogging
Chapter 3 – Show Me the Blog!
Chapter 4 – How to Setup Your Blog
Chapter 5 – Getting Started with RSS
Part 3: How Your Blog Can Help Your
Chapter 6 – How Your Blog Can Help Your … Job
Chapter 7 – How Your Blog Can Help Your … Relationships
Chapter 8 – How Your Blog Can Help Your … Ideas

Tips from Top Bloggers
A collection of short tips and excerpts from top bloggers on how to succeed, how to maximize your blogging potential and how to change the world through blogging.
While this may not be quite as new or revolutionary as Blog Marketing was/will be, our hope is that it’ll serve as a valuable manuscript to new bloggers which helps them grasp blogging in a more elemental fashion.
This is also my first time co-authoring, which should be interesting in a lot of ways as well.
Overall this is an entirely new experience for me, but also one I’m very excited with.
Hopefully I’ll be able to talk more over the next few weeks about some of the other projects coming out of Camp Jeremy.

Very cool guys. Best of luck with the writing.
Just an afterthought, I’m always surprised at how quick the turnaround on these books is. Good luck with meeting the deadlines too.
