There are some pics of the desktop here: It seems to be a lot like it is now, except for more fancy effects. I noticed the search field has gotten a more prominent place on the start menu. I guess that is how they will defeat Google's desktop search.

Vista was the name for a very poor quality instant curry in England.

A poor immitation of the real thing with a rather bland taste…

Just to clear up…

Vista: The desktop version of Microsoft’s next OS. This was previously called “Longhorn Client”, and will replace Windows XP in late 2006.

Windows Server 2007: The server version of Microsoft’s next OS. This was previously called “Longhorn Server”, and will replace Windows 2003 Server in 2007 sometime.

Both of these are based off of Windows 2003 Server SP1’s codebase, primarily because it was the best one Microsoft had. There will be an R2 for Windows 2003 Server, though I’m not sure there’ll be an SP2 (it might just be a security rollup). This is scheduled for 2006 sometime (likely mid 2006, so companies can have that done before Vista comes into the picture).

It is BV, but I’ve heard that Service Pack 2 for Windows Server 2003 also comes under the Longhorn name.
