Walt Ritscher: A Torontonian At Heart
This Wednesday was a busy day for me. 2 client meetings, then nearly picking up a friend I met in Seattle in February (Walt Ritscher). I missed him. I found him later in the day at his hotel and we wandered around the city, heading towards the April Toronto Webcentrics Meetup that I mentioned earlier.
Along the way I acted as Walt’s tour guide, and apparently he quite enjoyed it.
There were a lot of stories I could have told him along the way but didn’t, because of time constraints. Walt, y’know that courthouse building? A guy tried to attack me with a knife the first day I moved to Toronto, after I said “hi” to him. Fortunately I was a faster runner (I’m sure pissing myself didn’t hurt). Oh, and the first time a gay guy ever hit on me was standing in line at that poutine truck.
Good times.
I love Toronto, and meeting Walt again was fantastic. He’s a really, really great guy. One of those people that you makes you wish “it’s a small world” was true so that you could see them more often.
