Google PageRank of 7 … Again?
Huh, looks like Ensight is once again at a Google PageRank of 7, at least according to my toolbar. Google’s latest update has been nice to me, as well as to numerous client sites and side projects.
Ensight originally hit a PR of 7 nearly 18 months ago.
I then changed servers, during which time Google did the index, and lost my PageRank entirely for a few months. And then there was a massive update to the index, which overall meant that everyone had a lower PR. It’s nice to know that the magic number is back.
From a numbers perspective, Google claims there are roughly 3,400 incoming links to Ensight. Crazy that that’s what it takes to hit a PR of 7 these days.

It doesn’t really mean anything, from a practical point of view, but it is nice to see that number go up, since a PR of 7 is roughly 10 times as important as a PR of 6. Thanks Google guys! Has Google been nice to you this update?

I was a 7 for a long time but dropped to a 6 recently.

Kind of. I lost 6 again on beissholz, but this has been a 5/6 experience for the last year. And Useful sounds jumped from 0 to 6!
No, actually that is not true. ;) All of my domains had a PR of 5, but I changed scripts to have an overall removal of the beginning www and google adapted to this, giving me back not only a 5 but a 6 for US.
And, to proove the point of giving PR with links, a recently started project hit 5 after just a short time.
Overall an expected result, but with a nice surprise on Useful Sounds. ;)
So, PR 7 is the next to go ;)

I tell a lie. http://www.jtauber.com and jtauber.com/blog/ are both still 7. It is just jtauber.com that is 6.

Jeremy, you have to check your backlinks in Yahoo because Google doesn’t show all of them (to confuse SEO’s) -> backlinks for Ensight according to Yahoo

My site drop 1 bar from PR5 to PR4 :(

My sub-blogs increased from 0 to 6 yesterday. Today they are back at 0 again. I ntoice your pagerank went back to 6 also. Google seems to be playing with us.
