Moving to New Brunswick

Category: GeneralJeremy Wright @ 9:57 am

My family and I will be moving to the east coast of Canada (specifically St. Stephen New Brunswick, which is about an hour west of Saint John). This was one of our hopeful destinations. We’ve been offered a summer apartment for cheap (400$/month for 2 bedrooms), so we decided to take it. If we like it, we’ll stay (barring some interesting opportunities coming up elsewhere).

We’ll be moving Monday / Tuesday, so I’ll be offline for a day or two during that period.

Wish us luck! :)

Love New Brunswick, and I am envious. I’ve been to St. John and I’ll never forget it.

So keep in touch, and good luck!

Hey, Jeremy…after you’re settled in, would you mind weighing in on the discussion re: GM on my blog http://cogitation_station.typepad.com/ Adrants, and Soflow?

Appreciate it, and don’t hurt your back moving.

Jeez Jeremy, it’s just a laptop!!

Kidding – my wife is from the Maritimes and although I haven’t been able to find enough time to go there for more than a few days so far, it seems very nice.

We’ll be moving to Nova Scotia in about three years or so if we get our way :)

    Good luck!

Cool. All my relatives are in the Maritimes (mostly Nova Scotia, a few in Saint John).

While he’s gone, we should set up a donation link so when he gets back online he’s got the money for a shiney new laptop ;)

I like that idea. I can scrape a few bucks together…?

God speed mate – I’ll try to come out and visit, that’s if they let me back in… :S

So – where’s this donation link???

  7. Jon says:

I’d be happy to put a Paypal donations button on my site for Jeremy, but I’d like to get a sense of whether it will actually come to something or not. I’d rather not hand $20 over to Jeremy, you know?

Is there interest enough in this that people think I should? I can be emailed at me@jonwatson.ca (wait for the spam challenge before walking away) if people would rather take this up in private.

  8. Nathan says:

I don’t think anyone will donate to you or I and trust us to give it to Jeremy. The best way, in my opinion, would be to set up a simple script that lets people pledge their money, and then on a certain date we all donate to Jeremy’s paypal account. That way we can track how much is being donated. Or we could just forget about tracking/goals, and just donate like mad to Jeremy’s paypal account to start with.

  9. Jon says:

I thought about that – who’s gonna trust me to give up the money, but I didn’t see any other way around it.

However, I like the idea of just donating directly to Jeremy’s Paypal account which I’d like to do. But…I don’t know the email address to do so with. Can someone email me it?

    Thanks!

    Jon

  10. Nathan says:

It’s the same address as he uses for e-mail, so it shows up top left of this page. :)

  11. Jon says:

Ahh..OK. Well here goes. I hope people really are donating or my paltry few bucks is gonna look kind of stupid.
