Gnomedex is nearly upon us.
I swore to myself last year that I wouldn’t miss it. The problem is that at the moment I don’t have the moola, hoopla or cash to attend. And I’d hate to miss out because of some small thing like dollars.
So, being the shameless self promoter that I am, I thought I’d open it up to see if anyone wanted to sponsor my trip. I fully anticipate that whoever does will want something reasonable in return (no, getting a video of me salsa dancing is NOT reasonable… or is it? Hmm…). Which I’m totally fine with.
If you’re interested, comment here or drop me a line.
Interestingly, I’ll be trying to apply for a visa as well to go, which is why I need to get my ticket confirmed ASAP so I have documentation to show.
Update: Lee has offered to let me crash at his place. So cool! It’s Lee’s fault I’m addicted to strawberry smoothies
Next up: airfare and Gnomedex entry fee!

Just a tip, this time tell them you’re a writer instead of a “blogger”

So these guys will rake in $120k, and all they provide is meals and WiFi. That’s one hell of an ROI.

Realistically, it’s probably 40K for the hall, 20K for IT, 30K in food, and 10K for staff.
The conference business isn’t generally one where you make a lot of money. You either make it by charging more, or by having more people.
The 400$ isn’t bad considering it includes food.

At least I don’t have to explain that to everybody.
