It’s now a reality. I should note that I have no stake in this, beyond, well, I’ll get into that in a second.
The project is The Podcast Network. Here’s their launch announcement.
Mick and Cam, from G’Day World, are the guys behind this. I’ve been behind the scenes on this one for something like a month or two. It’s been awhile, and watching this come to life is very exciting.
Mick and Cam are effectively looking to turn Podcasting completely on its head by offering a network mentality, providing hosting and negotiating sponsorships. Hosts simply need to record their shows (and do all the stuff like setting up interviews that goes into doing a show).
For now they have 3 shows:
G’Day World
The Gadget Show
The Mobile Show
They also have a variety of other shows up their sleeves. Including a certain little blogger that everyone should know and love.
No, not Robert Scoble. Me! I’ll be hosting the Business Blogging show. It will cover issues in and around the exciting world of business blogging, as well as some general business news that comes up. There’ll be weekly interviews and “news recaps”, as well as other features such as (possibly) an “opinion” show with a cohost and at least one other “feature” monthly show with an industry expert cohost.
We’re looking at a March 1 launch date, which is hopefully doable (with a book and video series set to start at the same time).
Anyways, there’s lots of other stuff behind the scenes at TPN, but I’m excited enough about this beginning to shut up and not reveal any of the other secrets (like that Mick will appear in the buff for our first Business Blogging Show).
If you have people you’d like to see interviewed (or you’d like to be interviewed), let me know. I’m starting to line up shows now, so I have a fairly open calendar

Jeremy – Not sure if your podcast will be broadcast streamed live or not, but if that is the case and/or you get jammed with a guest who no shows (it happens, you’ll find), then you always have my Skype info and feel free to contact me about it
Since I’ve had my own show for almost five years now I’d probably be a much less interesting guest than many others would be, but hey I’d be happy to help out in a pinch if I’m around and available when you might need it someday.
I was looking at that Tablet PC show too a little curiously. To whomever is doing that show if you are reading this: I would be willing to contribute to the Tablet PC show here and there. I’m a relatively new Tablet PC business user and am gathering lots of real world Tablet PC info. I’ve found several good uses for the Tablet PC so far in both the home and office. In fact I wrote about some of my experiences earlier today on one of our blogs. Maybe I should drop Mick and Cam a line about this … hmm.

The Podcast Networks is Live
I recently posted on podcasting statistics and there seems to be a hockey stick phenomenon going on there. Now I read on Ensight that the Podcast Network is live and has a blog too. Think of it as the new
