Want to Participate in a Book Project?
If you’ve ever wanted to contribute to a book, boy have I got a chance for you. I’m participating in a massive blogger book project. I’m very excited about it. I am allowed to invite one other blogger to participate.
But, really, I couldn’t choose just one. So, please leave a comment here, or trackback on your blog, with why you’d like to be that choice. Nothing fancy is required. If only one person answers, then that person gets it.
Some details? Well, you’ll be required to write a 1000 word “portion” (essay, interview, whatever) on something you are passionate about and hopefully have some unique perspective on.
And that’s it. Really very simple.
If you have questions, ask away. If you have interest, tell me! I need to pick the individual before I leave for New Brunswick on Thursday though, so don’t be shy. This isn’t a massive commitment, but it could be an important one for you!

I’d be interested in writing about the CIO Summitt/Forum I’ll be attending. It’s a combination of government, academic, and public organizations and the impacts certain technologies (VOIP, wireless, etc) have, and will beging to, have on businesses.

(Strictly online, computer or blog-related?)

Hi Jeremy. I would love to write a piece about mobile technology and successfully incorporating it into the daily routine (this the hard part). I have been published numerous times in magazines and am currently reviewing the first draft of a book for a well known tech author. It would probably be hard to keep it down to 1000 words, though. And besides, I like you. I win. :)

Imagine you’d been invited to a party. And you could talk about anything that would be appropriate in that context (regular folk, having dinner, eating supper).
That’s what’ll work in this context. Web stuff, blog stuff, business stuff, tech stuff, trend stuff, political stuff, gardening stuff, adoption stuff. military stuff…
All of it’ll fly :)

I’d be interested in contributing an essay on the ‘rise of the Pro-blogger’.
I’ve been toying with the idea of a longer piece of work on the same topic and am not sure how I’d fit it into 1000 words – but would sure give it a red hot crack!

Saigon streetfood. ‘Passionate’ is somewhat of an understatement. I’m fast documenting/blogging as much as I can stuff in. I’d like to write more about it street sellers and why blogging the streetfood scene is important.

I’d be happy to contribute an essay on blogging and kids… That would certainly fit into the nine to 99 category mentioned above (the “kids” I’m referring to are in their mid- to late teens, and for them blogging seems to be a major interest), although I’m not sure that that age group would be that likely to pick up a book on blogging.
A significant topic would be blogging privacy; a lot of blogs I’ve seen by teenagers are, shall we say, highly personal, and completely unprotected on Blog*Spot too.
Still, I’m interested and you might be interested, but I digress for the time being. Just a thought. :)

what can I say without sounding needy nor desperate.
I can say that I’m neither, that I can, however, offer you a wealth of diverse experience on the blogosphere, having reported on the events on the blogosphere of the last 2 years, including yourself, naturally. I’ve made enemies and life long friends, most of whom I’ll never have the chance to meet, living as I do in Western Australia. But I would argue that my remoteness is the strength of the blogosphere: that somebody from the most remote state, in arguably the most remote country, can successfully make a presence in the blogosphere is the escense of why the space is so great: more than the internet itself, it overcomes the tyranny of distance and truly unites the globe as one. Pick your topic, and I’d be happy to write on it. Blog Ethics, The rise of blogs, blogs in the future…. you pick. I’ve had the chance to observe and write on many things, but to be in print would be extra special.

Hey Jeremy, as I work in the IT sector but specialize (at least online) in online gaming, I believe I could throw down a 1000 words regarding online gaming and what impact bloggers can and do currently have on developers at large.

Hello and good morning,
I found my way here through Weblog Tools Collection and I must say, very swank place you’ve got going on :).
It sounds like you have a very creative project on your plate, good luck with that. As for needing another blogger to help out, that sounds like a heap of fun and I’m definitely glad it isn’t limited to just the “technology of blogs” because I run a couple different blogs, each on a different topic.
My main topic is spirituality and work. How to remain true to oneself and doing the right thing by others, while remaining motivated to work when the world is filled with so much chaos. I also try to provide a bit of inspiration every now and again. I also blog on niche topics such as tarot, music (classical flute to be exact), and the occult. Then there’s my personal blog – simply put, incoherent ramblings (well, sometimes I have a lucid moment).
Whomever your choose, I wish them the best of luck and I can’t wait to see how this turns out.

Hi Jeremy.
I love to write (I used to write for an online newspaper earlier), and I really want to be a part of that book-project you just wrote about. I would like to write something about my geek-life (yes, I do see myself as a geek) – and how it sometimes can be hard to be a girl, and at the same time be _very_ interessted in computers. I also would like to tell you that I am from Norway, so if spelling counts here, someone would have to go over my text when it’s done.

I’d write about how Blogging is a form of therapy and how by reading my blog co-workers, friends and family have grown to know how little they understand me and how my mind works. Blogging is just another form of self-gratification, a way to say “hey look at me” without saying it. How through blogging my thoughts have been organized and archived for all to see. How the in-person me is not the Blog-me and how the Blog-Me is not the real me. I’d also say that “New York New York is Full of Sweet Talk!”

how about something on ‘blogging for social change’ – I’m interested in the growing number of blogs being developed that have a real social consciousness. Blogging has the ability to give the marginalized a voice and to be a part of the advocacy process. Just a thought…

You’ve let the cat out of the bag, Jeremy. Wow, what a great list of comments and offers to join us. This is going to be the best book ever! Communication in all of its forms is the most important thing that separates man from beast… but, let’s not think we’re the only ones on the plantet who know how to communicate. Sure, we have the Internet and blogging, but animals have…a sixth sense or something. Anyway, can’t wait to watch the project unfold. I’m a writing junkie…more is always better. Sweet!

I would love to participate, although I may be too late. My blog is on the importance of technology in the church. Churches, as a general rule, do not use technology effectively and there is much more that can be done to reach people for Christ by using technolology. I volunteer at my church doing desktop support, troubleshooting problems and assisting staff and other volunteers in many areas. I also run the sound and help with multimedia for the children’s worship service. The way I see, my role is to free up others to focus on their ministry. If they are being held up by not having the right tools or if those tools(computers etc) don’t work correctly, then they cannot be as effective in their particular ministry.
So that is my role and contribution.
