My Family Was in the Tsunami?!
Nothing like hearing “btw, the family who were in Sri Lanka are okay” to wake you up. I’ve been debating writing about this for the last few days but figured I had nothing to really add to the conversation. I mean, it happened in my family’s back yard (my dad, uncles and grandmother are from Sri Lanka) but I wasn’t aware of any “real” relatives who were out there.
Apparently some were visiting.
Which is enough to freak you out. I’m still not sure what can be done besides donating money, and I still don’t feel I have anything useful to add.
But feck this sucks and rocks all at the same time. Very, very, very glad they’re all okay!

Perhaps you should update your charity piece at the top of every page to help the disaster victims out? Every little bit helps.

It was only the south part of the country that was ruined. The reason so many died there was due to it being over-populated (20m. people on a small island in little shacks that cant withstand waves).
