Jeremy. I've been involved in the naming process many times. It's can be a lot of fun - thinking about the potential names and the rosy future of your new company. It inpired me so I wrote an blog post for general ideas about naming a company. Check out the ending of the post for fourteen potential names your you and Darren.

Hi Jeremy

Congrats – I love the entrepreneurial spirit.

A good name is off course important – but more important is what you put in to it. Your Mom and Dad didn’t now what to “expect” naming you years ago – the “real” value revealed it self over the years. I think the case is the same with Companies.

One suggestion – yes, you want to make a blogging company but what is the value proposition? Is it about using the blogging tool or is it about creating alternative space for participative communication?

I think that a company name containing “Blog” will constrain you possibilities. But okay – I don’t know what in fact will sell. Please tell me more and I’ll get “creative”

NB.
In fact I have my own considerations starting a blogging venture my self…;-)

Best Regards
Hans Henrik

I'd say stay away from the name "BLOG" in the name... think of all the people who incorporated the term "DOT COM" into their names; bandwagon.

MediaLog, PRLog, CorpLog (implied 'blog' sound in there without writing "BLOG"), Timber, LogDriver, ... I could go on but the day job calls...
