Ugh @ Journalistic Objectivity
This is the first time I’ve ever had to write a piece I didn’t believe in. The subject: how much FireFox rules.
Now, I have no problems with FireFox. But the piece was supposed to be from a “wow, isn’t this adoption amazing?” perspective.
I did it, and I did it without compromising my beliefs (by cheering for “competition” instead of FireFox) but it was a bit of a quandary. Let’s see if my editor buys it or if it slips under the radar. One can only hope.

I don’t think it’d be such a difficult article to write. I wouldn’t say Firefox “rules” though, but it is pretty cool.

the browser and the work that has gone into producing it is amazing, and anyone who says otherwise is talking out of … well who knows what.
But the adoption? It’s nothing new. We saw this in 96 with the IE / Netscape power struggle.
As for the competition, Opera are doing well as is Safari. I’m a little worried nay saddened by Microsoft’s lack of commitment to updating the browser that ships with over 80% of the world’s dektops but I’m sure you’d got all that.
I’d love to read it when it’s out.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Personally, I like Firefox, but I wouldn’t say it’s 1,000 times better than IE. (though I would say that it is quite a bit better, especially in the portions of tabbed browsing and plugins)
