I’ll be cross-posting this to The Bloggist in just a sec.

Most of my friends will know that I’m a man of ideas. Loads of ideas. Far too many in fact, which is one of the reasons I started blogging. Very few ideas get beyond the “hey, this’d work” stage. And even fewer get to the point where I tell people.

But, bar none, so far every idea I’ve actually started to run with is one I’ve done my best to follow through on.

Until now.

The Bloggist was essentially a blogging magazine. The idea was about a year ahead of it’s time. It’s now about 3-6 months ahead of it’s time. “Blogging Media” is now become a reality, with BlogosphereRadio, the Blog Herald and several podcasts and blogging media outlets that have in excess of 1 million listeners / viewers / readers.

Blogging is now mainstream. And the need for a blogging magazine is greater than ever.

However, the issues pressing on my time are greater still. I believe in this project and the idea more than ever. I believe now is possibly the best time to get funding for just such an adventure. And I know the community is just itching to see this happen.

I, sadly, am not actually able to do this right now.

So, I am offering The Bloggist up for “sale”. Sale is the wrong word, because I don’t want any money for it (unless someone wants to give me some of course). I simply, well, this is so cliche, but “I just want it to go to a good family”.

I can think of several groups right off the top of my head that would be great for this. I’ll try and remember to email them with this post. However that doesn’t mean that you, and a team you can pull around you, aren’t perfect for this opportunity.

Even after the “sale”, I would LOVE to be involved in this project in any way I can. I simply don’t have the time to lead it, there’s just too much going on in my life right now (again, more on this later this week).

I’ve been intending to write this post for a week and I keep putting it off.

Letting go is hard.

My hope, though, is that someone who can make this work will see this through and make it something that the entire community can be really proud of.

If you’re interested, I’d like to know a little about you, a little about your “family” and a little about your plans. I’m expecting about 20 emails from people who want to do this – so please make your email detailed enough that I can at least narrow it down based entirely on your email and your blog.

If you aren’t interested, I’d ask that you blog about this. Not for me, but because we need a blogging magazine. We need “representation” at the media level, and projects like this will only make that a greater reality.

Again, this isn’t me not believing in the project, it’s just me being realistic. With my current time, I wouldn’t get to this until the summer. And, really, in my mind this needs to have Issue 1 out no later than September.
