Stupid Canadian Dollar…
85 cents US :( :( :(
I haven’t yet received the cheque for Ensight. However when I agreed to the deal it would have meant 7700$CDN. Now it only means 6500$CDN :(

I don’t agree with those who complain about the rising Canadian doller. All these exporters have been getting off easy for so long. So the margins are lower, come up with a better business model, is what I tell them.

There ARE benefits. It’s now cheaper to buy from the US distributors for major companies than the Canadian ones, for example.
That doesn’t mean I have to enjoy watching my paycheque get smaller every day ;)

It’s also a nice way for the Canadian NHL teams to make a few extra bucks… oh yeah, no hockey, I almost forgot…

Actually it’s the stupid American dollar, the Canadian is worth the same on the world market as it has for a while, the american dollar is getting weaker is all.
So the Canadian is not getting stronger, the American is just getting weaker.

Oh and Don, this is not just hurting exporters. I get paid in USD, and my pay had dropped by $700 since April. Nobody likes a pay cut.

Now that sucks, for you. Now if I only knew some decent canadian shops to order stuff I need:
current conversion rate: 1€ = 1,33$ = 1,57 CAD

I’ll have travelled to the states twice now in the last 2 months of this current year. I’m LOVING the exchange rate.
