GIGAPixel Cameras?
Okay, this isn’t for consumers, but someone’s created a GIGAPixel camera: roughly 300 times more data than today’s consumer devices. They’ve been working on this for 4 years.
On this gallery page, the top image is the full image. The bottom one is a nearly 100% crop.
From the full version, you can barely see the people. In the bottom one, it’s just a grainy digital picture.
Craziness. They’re doing massive 360degree shots of American cities from the air with this camera, and the final product is more than 150 FEET wide when printed out. The few expo’s they’ve done, they’ve had to, to quote “scale it down to 20 feet due to the limited wall space“.
Crazy.
