Yep, 1. Matt, of Wordpress fame, has updated Pingomatic with the info I provided in the above post. He’s wittled it down to the 20 most useful ones. All you have to do is ping pingomatic, and it will do the rest of the pinging for you. Done. Cool, eh?
So, yeah, here’s the list of sites I’m pinging:

Yeah….pinging that list of 45 took several minutes. I’m currently pinging Pingomatic and around … 3 or 4 more.

I’m only using pingomatic. I did one post with all the other update services and it took forever on a 3Mbps cable connection.

That’s all I’m pinging as well. I think that might be the default for WordPress, as I can’t remember ever changing it.

Yeah, it’s the default. Pingomatic also pings all the other services for you so you don’t really need to change it. If you ever did want to tinker with it though, it’s under Options → Writing in the wp-admin menu.
