Does anyone know any ad or marketing companies which represent high-traffic sites in terms of selling ads, etc?
I’ve been looking around but haven’t found anyone that fits the bill. Looking for established, proven sites capable of selling several million ad impressions a month on high end tech and IT sites.
Here’s the email I’ve sent a few people:
Hey,
One of the projects I’m working with is looking to start really selling advertising for the first time. It gets about 10,000,000 visitors a month, is highly targetted IT and tech traffic, regularly gets picked up by Google News, Slashdot, Linux News, Linux Today, CNN, etc.
Obviously we don’t have staff to sell ads ourselves, so we’re wondering if anyone knows any marketing companies that would sell ads for us in return for a cut. I’ve tried doing a Google search for these types of companies, but all that’s coming back is lower end “we’ll help you sell your 100$ in ads” types of companies.
We’re looking for something more high end, but we aren’t exactly sure where to turn.
Hopefully someone here will know someone or know a company like this.
Thanks,
Jeremy
ps: advertisers who are willing to spend at the 2500$+ level are welcome to contact me as well.

How about an ad network like fastclick?

The web ad market has been in a slump lately, but it seems to be getting better. I would look at FastClick, Tribal Fusion, and maybe Burst Media - they’re the three big ad networks right now. Tribal and Burst will try to sell targeted ads as well as letting you run run-of-network and run-of-category ads.
You should also try Google AdSense, it does quite well for tech sites. Maybe better than the ad networks.

And ad network is only going to pay a few CPM, and we already have adsense. We know that by getting a marketing company to sell the ads we can hit at least 5CPM, and as high as 10CPM in some areas.

You might check out some of the companies that participate at Ad-Tech (which will be in NYC Nov. 8-10). I attended the show in San Francisco and a lot of companies offer SEM (Search Engine Marketing) and I think I remember a few saying they offered other marketing services (but I wasn’t specifically asking about that).

We can put whitepapers on your site that pay per download.
Thanks for the wiki and input into BlogPubs.com
