I’ve just been hired on, as a freelancer (for now), by a fairly well read security site. I’d (personally) never heard of them, but their traffic is fairly high, and the content level is decent. As far as I’m aware there are a handful of other paid and part-time staff as well, though I have yet to get connected with any of them outside of the Manager.
eBCVG (great name, eh?) has hired me to fill two part-time, freelance, positions: News Editor and Content Editor.
Don’t let the “Editor” titles fool you though. I’m being paid to be a content monkey. Churning out 5-10 news items a day (News Editor) and 2-3 multipage articles per week (Content Editor).
They are expecting the position to become a full-time freelance position next year once their income starts to climb.
My main topics for writing will be Security, Linux, Open Source, Microsoft, etc. It should be interesting. I’m sure I’ll be pointing to a few articles as time goes on. I’m supposed to start Monday so we’ll see how that goes.
Edit: As I’m now a “Journalist”, feel free to feed me news stories to jeremy@ensight.org.
