When Eminem’s video first came out, GNN’s servers were being hammered. Nobody could get to them. So, I mirrored here at Ensight.
I have a fair amount of bandwidth on my account, but last night over 100GB was used in just 4 hours.
Crazy.
If you feel like donating to the “Jeremy should have seen this coming” fund, please feel free to PayPal me money to jeremy@ensight.org. No obligation though… I’m just not used to owing my hosting company 200$ just to keep my site up. Especially with a baby due in 2 weeks

Ouch
100GB in 4 hours now that’s quite something…maybe I can add something to the “Jeremy should have seen this coming”-fund later on…

You’re the 3rd result for “eminem mosh video” on Google… pretty logical that you went through that much bandwidth. Still a lot though, especially in such a short time!

What hosting do you have? Or rather, what kind of crazy overage charges are you facing?
I have about a terrabyte of extra bandwidth I don’t need.. but no money to donate though, sorry.

Well, my limit is 20GB/month. Until now that’s been more than fine. I only use 10GB on average.
The first day I mirred the video it used 2GB. No biggie.
Last night, 7000 people watched it. Boom. 100GB @ 2$/extra GB.
Crazy.
Feel free to mirror it if you want and I’ll post it back up Nathan, but I think your Terrabyte might be gone pretty quick too

$2/gb? Ouch. And 100gb, wow.
I could easily set asside 900gb for it (I only use about 20gb a month, it’s a total waste of a dedicated server, but you know, I like control.. especially over my php.ini file), but I don’t think it’d last very long, like you say.
