XP SP2 Delayed, But Shipping…
For those who like hardcopies, XP SP2 is now shipping free of charge. By “now” I mean you can place your order now:
Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.
Get it here at the Microsoft site.
I’ve ordered mine.
Edit: This link is now inactive. Apparently this wasn’t supposed to go live until September. Whoops. In other news, XP SP2 is now RTM. It’ll become available via Automatic Update and Windows Update later this evening. However, not all users will get it, as the AU/WU servers automatically scale so you only see what the servers can actually serve up. Considering there’s 100M users of a 100MB download… It might take a while. If you’re impatient, apparently www.microsoft.com/downloads is actually totally separate. So, once it’s available, you can probably get it there even if AU/WU are too busy.
