A Personal Blog
Ensight Layout
I’ve gotten some flack recently about certain parts of the layout not being prominently displayed enough…
The problem is that lots of parts of a blog layout are important. In no particular order, the following seem important to me:
- navigation
- recent comments
- login / register
- search
- blog description (keep Google happy)
- RSS feed link
That’s an awful lot of content to keep above the fold. So, I’m looking for ideas on how to accomplish this. There are options. For instance, the current “charity” area could be completely revamped for some of this content, and the charity could be moved to the sidebar.
If this was done, I could easily move the search, login register and RSS feeds there. This would leave only the navigation, blog description and recent comments in the sidebar (along with any ads and all the archive info).
What do you guys think / suggest?

I think the design is fine.
You aren’t going to please everybody anyways.
Design it to please YOU :-)
