Also, there was a discussion at WP Support Forums or at the WP Hackers Mailing List, don't remember which, where someone discussed making a plugin which will delete all comments which are held up for moderation. This can be a bit tricky as legit comments can also be held for moderation, like my last comment above did yesterday as it had 6 links in it. But I think that when used in tandem with a blacklist, this can prove to be effective.
