From the ClipBlog

Category: Blogging, From My LifeJeremy Wright @ 8:11 am

My new ClipBlog’s been getting some decent traffic, but there’s some interesting stuff I felt I’d like to highlight… Mainly because I’m interested in them, but not enough to write a post on each of them.

Eerie Photoshoot – This is cool. Some very funky pictures. Guys hiding in the trees. Guys hiding in towers. It’s not “Blair Witch”, but it’s very cool nonetheless. Obviously planned. Good reaction. Nothing too deep, but entertaining enough for a Wednesday morning.

Competing on Price – A lot of discussion going on around the blogosphere this week about competing on price. You’d think that “you can’t just compete on price” would be something entrepreneurs would know by now. But, lots of good discussion. Nobody’s really saying “Yes you can compete on price!” so it’s a lot of “yeah, I agree” happening. Always exciting ;-)

Blogger Pays Bloggers – Big news last week. Blogger removed the AdSense ads from Blogger blogs. Big news this week. You can put them back on and earn some money. While some people are poopooing this idea, I think there’s one really good aspect: it’ll bring blog advertising more into the mainstream than ever before. Always a good thing, especially if you’re one of the people who has ads on their blogs. On a sidenote, I’m now well over my target of 25$/month for ads. Trying to figure out what I should do with the excess. Improve my quality of life (haha)? Give some away? Maybe buy some Google stock? ;-)

DIY Terminal Server – Quick rundown on what a Terminal Server is and the usefulness. Doesn’t cover the cost or concept of “Terminal Server Licenses” for most MS apps (ie: you can’t just buy one copy of Office and run 30 clients off of it). Also, Citrix will provide better performance than simply using Remote Desktop. More cost, but if performance is an issue or you’re looking to run more than just a few apps for a few clients, might be worth some thought.
