A Personal Blog
Google Blogging?
Of course everyone’s heard of this by now.
The thing to watch, of course, is whether this will be an edited voice, or an unedited voice. Not many Google’rs blog, and those who do are very aware of what to say and what not to say. You don’t really get a good look at the company or processes at all.
That’s what I’m looking for. If Microsoft can do it, surely Google can.

If the Google blog follows the excellent and open Microsoft blogging model, it will be a great blog. It would help both web searchers, users of Google’s other services, and search engine optimizers.
On the other hand, if they copy the style of the famous “Google Guy”, and his forum postings, the blog would be worthless.
For those who don’t know “Google Guy”, he (or maybe even they) posts mainly on the search engine optimization (SEO) forum called WebMasterWorld. Even then, he posts mostly in the private paid member section of that board, and his comments are not available to the general readership.
In any case, his posts, in the grand tradition of newspaper horoscopes, can be read in any number of ways. His posts are so vague, as to be at best, worthless; and at worst, even dangerous if taken seriously by website owners.
Let’s hope the Google blog follows MSN style, and not the Google Guy tradition.
