Drums
Well, the Tama kit I was looking for fell through. It would have taken 6 months for it to get here. I’m now looking at having a kit custom made in Brazil for roughly the same price, using a Brazillian variation of Maple.
Maple drums sound great, and this brand (RMV Drums) has been gaining a lot of traction with session and studio drummers in Toronto and other metro areas.
I’ll likely have it shipped to me in the first couple of weeks of March. I’ve gotten a money-back guarantee on them as well if I don’t like them, which allays any of my fears!

Very nice kits I have to say. If I would still be drumming I’d start to get interested right about here. Sadly I rarely have the time at the moment, nor do I have a place for my old kit.
Thanks for your comment to my other story by the way, there was a html error, which is fixed now and the story is attributed to…. you! :)

I was wondering about that. Didn’t want to seem pompous though ;-)
Yeah the drums do look good. I’d hate to buy a kit without hearing it, but the moneyback guarantee is hard to pass up!

If they are making such an effort, then I doubt they sound bad. And what is most likely is that they have a special vibe to them that is unique, being specifically manufactured by them in likely relatively small numbers. My problem would be that I would not want it shipped to germany. It would probably cost as much as a kit to get it delivered ;)

I’m curious if you have recieved you’re RMV drums yet? I ordered a set Jan. 1 and I’m still waiting. Also, finding it very difficult to get any feedback from RMV.

Hey Fred,
I haven’t. I’ve got the rack and cymbals, and the snare is on order. I’ll be ordering the drums once I have the rest of the kit in place basically. Might be another couple of months :)
