it actually seems like they did it wrong in every single way.
My favourite part is the email she got from customer service:
We apologize if you have experienced trouble downloading your music to a digital media player or copying your music to a CD. Unfortunately, We are unable to provide technical assistance after you have downloaded the music from BuyMusic.com to your primary computer. In addition, we are unable to credit you back for failed or damaged copies once you have successfully downloaded the music to your primary computer.
It actually made me laugh out loud. I have never in my life seen customer service that was worse than this.
Oh, and this little tidbit from their privacy statement is quite interesting:
we may disclose, sell, trade, or rent your Personally Identifiable Information to others without your consent

Yup, I don’t generally like Macs, but what Steve Jobs pulled off with iTunes makes me drool for a PC version. As soon as that is launched, Mac’s stock will go astronomical as their profits do.
Wish I had money to invest.

After downloading their buggy software and finally getting it to install correctly, I found that my network (located overseas, a government intranet) would not allow in buymusic’s traffic. Well, Buymusic decided that this wasn’t their problem, and made me pay for downloads I never received.
What’s more, after some complaining, I was told I could receive a small refund. However, I never got a penny, and every email I’ve sent them since then (maybe a couple months ago) has been ignored. Don’t use Buymusic if you desire fair customer service and a product that works.

I am so glad to find this! Being quite the non-techie myself, I thought there was something wrong with me rather than the site when I was unable to burn the music I had just bought, onto a cd or even transfer it into my mp3 player. I mean HOW COULD a site that claimed to provide burnable music just NOT?! (Or at least not for most commonly used devices) I am both disappointed and upset that they did not do a better job making this music accessible and even more so that they have made no effort to disclose the fact that they didn’t, in a comprehensible manner to their consumers. It’s really too bad too, because they had the best selection I’ve found for buying music online. Does anyone know if they are doing anything to fix this, or know of any better sites to use? So far, Emusic has not had a single song I have looked for on it.
